Wesley David Price died peacefully on January 24, 2024, in Luverne, Alabama, at 84 years of age. Born on May 31, 1940, David was a native of Troy, Alabama, where he attended Troy High School and Troy State University. He served as a radio operator in the US Navy and later had a decades-long career as a real estate buyers’ agent in Troy and Montgomery. David was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing and was known for his large year-round vegetable garden. He kept himself busy with many hobbies including studying theology, photography, raising honeybees, and making homemade wine. He was an active member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, serving on the vestry and teaching adult Sunday School.
David is survived by his wife, Suzanne Loizeaux Price; his two sons, David and Ted; grandchildren Eva, James, Sarah Kate, and Bassett; sisters, Frances Price Davis (William) and Marsha Price Gaylard, and brother, William Price. Funeral services will take place at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Troy on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, with visitation in the rectory at 1:00pm and service in the sanctuary at 2:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mark’s Episcopal Church food pantry, 401 West College St, Troy, AL, 36081. The staff of Green Hills Funeral Home is honored to serve the Price family.
