Veleta Waltman
March 26, 1929 — July 17, 2014
Veleta Spivey Waltman, age 85, a resident of Goshen, Alabama, went to be with the Lord on July 17, 2014. Memorial services will be held on Monday, July 21, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Green Hills Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for cake and coffee following the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Waltman was a member of Bush Memorial Baptist Church. Her God given talent and active ministry was in music, teaching and prayer. She was very active in leadership at the Troy Nutrition Center.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Hollon S. Spivey and Rushie Taylor Spivey; sister, Doris Thornton; brothers, Underwood Spivey, E.J. Spivey, Matt Spivey; grandchildren, Matt Hill and Ginger Middleton. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 67 years, George Waltman; brother, Wiley Spivey; children, Connie Mathews (Johnny), Rodney Waltman (Nancy), Valerie Hill (Wyly), Aleta Light (Bill); 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, one great, great grandchild.
