Thomas Leon “Tommy” Adams, age 78, of Troy, AL, passed away April 17, 2015. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Green Hills Funeral Home with Curtis Faulkner and Tommy Mann officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, April 20, 2015 from 5 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Brad Phillips, Peewee Tillery, John Nunnlee, Lamar Davis, Doug Stephens and Chris Stephens.
Folks, who knew Mr. Adams, knew a few simple facts about him. He was a hard-working, dawn ‘til dusk farming man. He had a deep down love for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He merited a great respect from all whom he encountered. He was a man of his word.
Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Beulah Adams; wife, Janice Holladay Adams; two sisters, and four brothers. He is survived by his son, Mike (Ruth Ann) Adams; grandchildren, Audrey (Stewart) Austin, Jason (Jordan) Adams, Rachel (Chad) Woodham, and Mary (Nick) Krauss; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Austin, Kooper Woodham, Braden Krauss, and Liliana Krauss; brother-in-law, Roy (Barbara) Holladay; and sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Mize, and Eva Mae Adams.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Mr. Adams to the Team in Training Leukemia Foundation (The Leukemia Lymphoma Society Attn: Donor Services PO Box 4072 Pittsfield, MA 01202) or to the American Cancer Society.
