Sidney Starling, Sr.

Sidney R. Starling, Sr.
, 84, a lifelong and proud resident of Pike County died Thursday, September 30, 2010 after an extended illness.
Funeral services will be Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 3:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church with Reverend David McVay officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 until 3:15 Saturday at the Church.
A good and faithful servant all his life, Mr. Starling proudly served his country in World War II, was a long standing board member of the Pike County Heart Association, a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church, a founding member of the Troy Exchange Club, and an employee of 41 years at Troy Bank and Trust, retiring in 1989.
He is survived by his wife, Mary A. Starling; 2 sons, Sidney R. (Buddy) Starling, Jr. (Sherry); David A. Starling (Beth) all of Troy; grandchildren, Will, Josh, Drew, Anna and Mary Margaret Starling; sister, Annie Claire McDonald, Hurst, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jarel and Clara Starling; infant grandson, Hunter Russell Starling; six brothers and one sister.
Honorary pallbearers, will be The Wesley McCartha Mens Sunday School Class of First United Methodist Church and the Troy Exchange Club.
