Sandy Marie Stephens, age 40, a lifelong resident of Pike County, Alabama, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, September 2, 2020, at her home. A graveside service will be held Sunday, September 6, 2020, at Hepzibah Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Rick Hayes officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeremy Cain, James Cain, Larry Campbell, Brandon Owens, Shawn Owens, and Ned McLendon. Green Hills Funeral Home directing.
Sandy was a member of the Goshen High School class of 1998 and early on recognized her passion for working in retail management. She excelled in her positions and was dedicated to completing the tasks at hand. Sandy was genuine, and pure, and selfless. She would sacrifice her own comforts to be sure the ones she loved most, and even the ones she hardly knew, had everything they needed. Sandy’s whole heart beat for her children and she carried endless love for her family. Her sentiments for her niece and nephew were endearing and she always assured them they were “the purdiest thangs she ever saw.” Sandy loved a peaceful retreat to a campsite in Eufaula or the scenic escape to the Gulf Coast. Her spirit will long be felt and memories of her forever carried by those she touched along her journey.
Sandy is survived by her children, Braxton Wilkins and Carson Senn; mother, Sandra Stephens; father, Hughey Stephens, Sr.; brother, Hughey Stephens, Jr. (CJ); sister, Angela Suddith; brother-in-law, Marlo Suddith; niece and nephew, Lexi Stephens and Devan Suddith; great-niece, Khada Tony; granny, Lillian Langley; aunt, Rhonda Langley; uncle, Gary Langley (Betty); cousins, Cindy, Pam, Jamie, and Jenny; numerous special friends; and her beloved dog, Max. She was preceded in death by her papa, Lemuel Langley; little granny, Minnie Stephens; pawpaw, Joel Stephens; and uncle, Mike Langley.
