Roger Sanford Parker, age 62 of Troy, died Sunday, January 19, 2014 at Troy Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Antioch Baptist Church with Reverends Roger Miller and Keith Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in the Antioch Cemetery with Green Hills Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 21, 2014 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to service.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph B. and Corrinn Parker; sister-in-law, Susan Parker. He is survived by his wife, Judy B. Parker; sons, Terry Trawick (Melissa) of Panama City Beach, FL, Billy Hammond (April) of Prattville, AL, Sanford Parker (Taryn) of Chicago, IL and Patton Hammond (Maggie) of Acworth, GA; brother, Darrell Parker of Pell City, AL; grandchildren, Alorah Hammond, Cade Eiland and Preston Hammond.
Mr. Parker was a member and music Director of Antioch Baptist church where he attended for 61 years. He was an employee with Jenkins Brick for more than 13 years. . He loved line dancing, singing and the outdoors. He was married nearly 30 years.
Pallbearers will be Larry Richardson, Jim Phillips, Raymond Ledford, Monte Pugh, Raymond Wheeler and Warren Walker. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Antioch Baptist Church and the American Legion Dance Group.
