Ricky Allen Penton

Ricky Allen Penton, a native of Troy, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2024. He was 69. Graveside services will be at 1:00pm on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Green Hills Memorial Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior at Green Hils Funeral Home. Pastor Wayne Williams officiating. 

Ricky was well known for his talent building engines and could often be found at the mud race tracks on the weekends. He never met a stranger and always spoke his mind but would do anything to help out his family and friends.

Ricky is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Wanda Tew Penton; son, Joshua Penton (Ginny Ann); sister, Charlene Green (Monty); aunt, Catherine Green (Dobo); as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Bertha Gates; his sister, Rhonda Scott; and his grandfather, Denzel Riley. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pike Animal Shelter in honor of Ricky’s love of animals. The staff of Green Hills Funeral Home is honored to serve the Penton family during this time.
