Richard Erwin Deichmann, age 72, of Goshen, formerly of Milford, CT passed away on Monday, November 7, 2011. A memorial service for Mr. Deichmann will be held Saturday, December 3, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Bush Memorial Baptist Church in Troy with Rev. Otis Derrah and Rev. Dwayne Norman officiating, Green Hills Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Deichmann was employed with Sikorsky Aircraft for over 50 years. He travelled extensively and ended his career as one of the most respected and admired authorities in crash damage engineering. He had many hobbies including flying airplanes, fixing cars and model trains. He was full of life and never met a challenge that he did not meet enthusiastically head on. He enjoyed conversation and was an avid traveler. He was a kind and loving husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his wife Pat of 41 years, he is survived by his cherished daughter Heidi Giaccone and her husband Joe of Killingworth, CT; two grandchildren, Joseph and Emma; loving brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Howard Rocklen his lifelong friend and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bush Memorial Baptist Church Memorial Fund in Troy, or the American Heart Association.
