Nolan fought the good fight, finished the race and is now victorious over all his physical illnesses as he was healed when he breathed his last breath here on earth. He was a faithful servant of Christ and a devoted, loving, husband, daddy, brother, uncle, son, and friend to so many. “No-No” will be greatly missed, and our hearts are heavy with grief; but it is well with our soul because we know this separation is only temporary and this gives us a peace which surpasses all understanding! His life philosophy was he was just a sinner saved by grace and he would tell anyone who would listen to get to Heaven be sure your name is written in the lamb’s book of life. One of his famous sayings at church was God is not dead; God is good all the time and one day He is coming for us all! Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his faithful servants (Psalm 116:15).
Nolan is survived by his wife of 37 years, Elaine Dicks; three daughters, Hannah Hamilton (Jerry), Christie Schwab (Brian), and Michelle Wade (James); six grandchildren, Victoria Waldrop (Josh), Dawn Allen (Jordan), Austin Rossi, Brittni Cox (Chris), Loren Fomby (Brandon), and Blake Schwab; four great-grandchildren, Cole Courtney, Maddux Waldrop, Braxton Allen, Hudson Allen, and Cohen Cox; three brothers, Franklin Dicks, Richard Dicks (Jimmie), and Jack Dicks (Jimmie Ray); three sisters, Betty Andrews, Alice McNeill (Don), and Vickey Durden. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lamar Dicks, Sr.; sister, Hazel D. Knighten; and brother, Clyde Dicks.
In addition to flowers, charitable contributions may be made in his honor to the Pine Level Cemetery Fund (PO Box 5 Pine Level, AL 36065). Friends and family can sign the guestbook online at www.greenhillsfuneralhome.net. The staff of Green Hills Funeral Home is honored to serve the Dicks family.
