Merle Gutierrez

Merle Brown Gutierrez, age 81 of Troy, died Sunday, October 12, 2014 at Troy Regional Medical Center.  Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Green Hills Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Ash officiating.  Burial will follow in the Green Hills Memorial Cemetery with Green Hills Funeral Home directing.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Mrs. Gutierrez was born and raised in Pike County.  She relocated to Suburban Chicago where she was a longtime resident, and then moved back to Troy in 1999.  She was preceded in death by her parents, James William Brown and Ruby Gertrude Wilkes; first husband, Frank Skores; second husband, Clovis Gutierrez; three sisters and grandson, Mark Pizer.  She is survived by her son, Gary A. Skores, Sr. of Troy; daughters, Jacqueline Canino (Richard) of Illinois, Patricia Pizer (Leroy) of Florida; brother-in-law, Ezra Hester; grandchildren, Gary A. Skores, Jr., Jason Skores, Jessica Skores, Richard Canino, Jr., Lisa Van Dyke, Cheryl Chamberlain, Tracy Meschino; 16 great grandchildren and special friend, W.L.
