Mary Helen Rose Wynn

Mary Helen Rose Wynn, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Troy Health and Rehab. Graveside services will be at 2:00pm on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at Green Hills Memorial Cemetery with visitation one hour prior at Green Hills Funeral Home. Rev. Andrew Knick officiating.

Mrs. Wynn, also known as Mimi, loved her family greatly and enjoyed spending time with them, especially her grandson Emory, who spent every weekend with her until he was an adult! She was an excellent baker, and her family remembers the pound cake and red velvet cakes she would make. Her cheese straws were known around town, and she would take orders every holiday season. Mimi was a graduate of Goshen High School and a longtime member of Southside Baptist Church. She taught the kindergarten Sunday school class for over 20 years, and she received a "perfect attendance" award for many, many years. An accomplished seamstress, she altered many dresses and garments for those across the Pike County area. Mrs. Wynn enjoyed being outdoors and would even paint in her free time. She was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her.

Loving survivors include her daughter, Rosemary Wynn Hanson (Hunter); grandson, Emory Hunter Hanson; granddaughter, Sushannah Hanson White (Jeffery); sister-in-law, Mildred Carroll; brother-in-law, Robert Wynn; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Shirley Hoffman Wynn; her parents, James & Mattie Rose; and her brother, James Earl Rose.

The family would like to extend a word of gratitude to the staff of Troy Health & Rehabilitation as well as the nurses of Compassus Hospice for their care and compassion during this time.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church in memory of Mrs. Helen Wynn.
