Mark Timothy Gallop, 67, of Luverne, Alabama, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Saturday, June 15, 2024. A memorial service will be at 11:00am on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Green Hills Funeral Home in Troy. Visitation is one hour prior to the service.
Born in Lansing, Michigan, Mark graduated from Ross Common High School in the class of 1975. He moved to the Seattle, Washington, area where he spent the majority of his life. He was a garage door technician, which led him to purchasing and owning the business. He and his wife retired to Luverne, Alabama in 2022, where they built their forever home called “Knot many Acres.” Throughout the years, Mark enjoyed many things—from motorcycling through the backroads, to holding his big pet birds. You would always see him with a black cup of coffee and his Doors West uniform on. He loved good music and all movies. He was the rock of his family and friends, always ready to lend a helping hand and a joke to make you smile. Mark was hard working, steadfast, honorable, caring, firm and the best man and friend of his wife. He was loved by many and will be missed by all, especially his furry companion, Mr. Magoo.
Mark was survived by his wife, Robin; children, Travis Lambert, Chelsey-Lynne Jones and her husband, Allen; grandchildren, Sebastian Lambert, Autumn Jones, Demi Jones; nieces, Nikki Gallop Smith and her family, Amy Gallop and her family; as well as his nephew, Brooke Beresford. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill & Margaret Gallop; and his siblings, Steven Gallop and Michelle Gallop.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Macaw Rescue and Sanctuary at www.macawrescueandsanctuary.org.
