Ms. Marjorie J. Hattaway, of Troy, Alabama, went to be with the Lord on February 15, 2013, surrounded by her family and friends. Marjorie was born in Troy, AL on November 8, 1932 to Mr. Eddie and Mrs. Vera Penn. Ms. Hattaway had been a resident of Troy for the past 38 years. She enjoyed spending quality time with her family and friends, was an avid seamstress and baker, and a strong faithful woman of God. Marjorie was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and a friend to all she met. Ms. Hattaway is preceded in death by her father, Eddie Penn; her mother, Vera Penn; and two brothers, Toby Penn and Harvey Lee. She is survived by her five sisters, Miriam Owens and Myrom Penn of Troy, AL; Becky Jordan (Perry) of Highland Home, AL; Shirley Riley (Howard), Sanfield, AL; and Ann Lee of Troy, AL; brother Stanley Lee of Sanfield, AL; two daughters, Linda Cooper (David) of Pensacola, FL and Brenda Swanzy of Troy, AL; five grandchildren, David Cooper (Erika) of Pensacola, FL, Christina Cooper of Springfield, MO, Celiese McDougald (Clay) of Troy, AL; Brack Swanzy (Tiffany) of Dayton, OH, Heath Swanzy of Troy, AL; two great-grandchildren Collin and Connor Cooper; several nieces and nephews and other family. Visitation will be held at Green Hills Funeral Home on Sunday, February 17, 2013 from 2:00pm – 5:00pm. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, February 18, 2013 at 2:00pm at Green Hills Funeral Home and immediately following, at Shellhorn Church of Christ, will be the Grave Site Service. Pallbearers will be Marjorie’s grandsons, David Cooper, Brack Swanzy, Heath Swanzy, and Clay McDougald; great-nephew, Devon Owens; and friend of the family, Mark Miley.
