Mahlon McVay

Mahlon Franklin McVay, age 55, of Troy, Alabama, died Thursday, May, 24, 2012.

Funeral services for Mr McVay will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at Green Hills Funeral Home with Doc Kirby officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hills Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 29.

Mr. McVay was a faithful employee for the city of Troy water department for more than 27 years and was a member of the Union Hill Methodist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents Davis Franklin and Elese Carroll McVay. Mr. McVay is survived by his brother Michael McVay (Corrine) and his niece Lauren McVay. He is also survived by his cousins Carla Rice, Max Barron, Mary Masterson, Minoise Chambers, Patsy Russell and Helen Traweek.

Pallbearers for the service will be Billy Stubbs, Gary Best, Stuart Brown, Jonathan Oakes, Max Barron and Thomas Rice.

The family requests contributions to be made in his honor to the Union Hill Methodist Church.
