June Williford Rose

June Lynn Williford Rose, age 91, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2024. A graveside service will be at 1:00pm on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at Green Hills Memorial Cemetery with visitation one hour prior at Green Hills Funeral Home. 

A native of Troy, Mrs. Rose grew up in the area and graduated from Troy High School in 1951. She went on to Auburn University and joined the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority of which she was a proud member. She finished her bachelor's degree in education at Troy State University. Mrs. Rose went on to teach at Pensacola City Schools, Ft. Rucker Elementary, and retired after teaching several years at Troy Elementary. Her summer getaway was the beach! She even owned a condo in Panama City Beach for a few years. 

Mrs. Rose was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church in Troy and enjoyed the Women’s weekly Circle meetings. She enjoyed reading books and would end each day by reading her Bible. Mrs. Rose knitted several blankets- probably while she watched reruns of all the western TV shows. She could quote the lines and knew all of the old-time actors. She lived a full life and loved her family!

Survivors include her son, James Michael Rose; grandchildren, Jason (Tovah) Rose, Michael (Elizabeth) Rose, Katie Rose, Zachary Rose, Peyton (David) Rose Hubbard, Slade Rose; 6 great grandchildren; her sister, Mary Duncan Hall; as well as several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Fox & Alma Griffin Williford; and her siblings, Geraldine Jones, Martha Burkett, and Louis F Williford Jr.
