Julia Nell Parrish Morgan, age 81, of Lakeland, FL, died Thursday, July 21, 2011. A graveside service will be held Friday, July 29, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Old Ebenezer Cemetery in Troy, with Rev. Doug Knight officiating and Green Hills Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Morgan has lived 47 years in Florida, originally from Birmingham, AL. She attended Christ Community Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Morgan was the first woman manager of a golf club in the United States in Lakeland, Florida. She was a member of the Red Hat Ladies, an avid reader, cook, dancer and passionate about her pups. She loved to shop, entertain, travel and spend time with her family, especially holidays. Most of all very loyal to her friends and family. Mrs. Morgan was loving to all and considered a “True Southern Belle with Grace”.
She was preceded in death by her father, Earl Clifton Parrish; mother, Mamie Evans; daughter, Julia Lea Morgan. She is survived by two daughters, Cynthia Morgan Dunn (Steve); Mamye Benita Leslie; grandchildren, Alicia (Kevin), Brad (Heather), Jeffrey (Kristin), Ron (Kathy) and Cynthia; great- grandchildren, Hunter, Taylor, Parker, Jay Spencer, Ford, Cole and Isabella; her best friend of many years, Dena Brown of Birmingham, AL.
