John P. Keene, Jr., age 61 of Troy, died Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at his residence. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 11:00 am from the chapel of Green Hills Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Green Hills Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Billy Evans officiating and Green Hills Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Keene was a loving father and grandfather. He loved Harley-Davidson motorcycles, enjoyed playing drums in a local band, loved the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Alabama Crimson Tide as well as watching westerns and wrestling.
He is survived by his wife, Katherine Keene; daughters, Amanda Franklin (Keith), Anna Sims, Robin Taylor (Derrick); brothers, K.W. Keene (Donna), Gerald Coppage (Alvice); sister, Alice Edmondson; grandchildren, Brianna Blocker, Ashton Smith, Trent Franklin, Bridget Franklin, Ryan Franklin and Joshua Taylor.
Pallbearers will be Robert Calhoun, Alan Hadden, Joe McCall, Blake Owens, Bobby Lee and Huey Stephens.
