Joel Brantley

Joel Brantley, age 72, of Banks died Thursday, March 21, 2019 in Ozark . Joel was born November 19, 1946 to the late Joe Homer and Catherine Flowers Brantley. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Gwendolyn Avant. Joel served in the Alabama National Guard during the Vietnam era and was a graduate of Troy State University. He was an avid fisherman and loved to fish on the Alabama River.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 24, 2019 at 4:00 PM from the chapel of Green Hills Funeral Home with Reverend Averyt Walker officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

His survivors include; son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Gail Brantley of Deatsville, daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Bill Atwell of Dothan, his grandchildren, Kate Smith and Gabe Smith, his sisters and brothers-in-law, Cathie and Johnny Steed of Brundidge and June and Jackie Flowers of Brundidge. He is also survived by numerous loving cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers memorials should be made to the Banks Cemetery Fund, or to the Banks Baptist Church.
