Jean M. Allen, of Troy, Alabama, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2012. Funeral services for Mrs. Allen was held on Monday, January 30, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the chapel of Green Hills Funeral Home with Rev. Luke Lane officiating. Graveside services followed at Green Hills Memorial Cemetery with Green Hills Funeral Home directing. Visitation was held on Monday, January 30, 2012, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Green Hills Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Troy Building Fund.
Mrs. Allen is survived by her husband, Dr. William D. Allen; sons, William E. Allen, Michael Theodore Allen (Susan Renee), James Victor Allen and Patrick Anthony Allen; two grandsons, William Russell Allen and Michael Aaron Allen; two sisters, JoAnn Motes and Hilda Fannin; special family friend, Chuck Costa and devoted caregiver, Francis Linzey. Mrs. Allen is preceded in death by six brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Allen was a graduate of Troy High School and she attended Troy State University. She devoted herself as a loving wife and mother, sharing with her husband 55 years of marriage. Mrs. Allen was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Troy for nearly 40 years, where she served as a member of the Builders Sunday School Class and nursery worker.
Serving as pallbearers are: William Russell Allen, Michael Aaron Allen, Patrick Lucas Herndon, Brantley Barnett Park, David Conrad, Jr. and Jimmy Barron.
