Jane Shelley, age 67, of Troy, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at her home following an extended illness. A graveside service will be held Friday, April 2, 2021, at 3 p.m. in Green Hills Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Ross Langford officiating.
Jane was an outgoing student and spirted cheerleader during her tenure at Charles Henderson High School. She went on to study at the University of Alabama from where she graduated in 1975 with a degree in Home Economics. She was a loyal member to the Pi Beta Phi Sorority and continued advocate for the cultivation of strong sisterhood. Jane took pride in fostering friendships and keeping contact with her friends near and far through regular phone calls. She was rooted in her Christian faith and a devout prayer warrior for those in need. Jane’s gift of good will shone through her simple displays of love and consideration and will long be wonderful examples of living full of grace and gratitude.
Ms. Shelley is survived by her sister, Wendy Shelley Ford; nephews, Brannon Ford and Hunter Ford; nieces, Anna Ford Smith and Amy C. Ford; and special friends, Cheryl Black and Cathy Chumbley. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rudolph and Robbie Shelley.
