James Leo Copeland, age 82 of Troy, died Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at Troy Health & Rehab. Funeral services will be Thursday, October 9, 2014 at 2:00 pm from the chapel of Green Hills Funeral Home with Rev. Earl Barron officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hills Memorial Cemetery with Green Hills Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Mr. Copeland was a lifetime resident of Pike County. He was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church where he was baptized. Mr. Copeland exercised his gift- of- gab and familiarity of faces in his dedicated sales positions for Horn Beverage Company and Central Auto Parts. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Clemis Copeland; and brothers, Wayne Copeland and Tom Copeland. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Annette H. Copeland; sons, Jimmy Copeland (Martha), Buck Copeland (Karen); brothers, Joe Copeland (June) and Charles Copeland (Nora); sister-in-law, Louise Davenport Grayson; grandchildren, Chris Campbell (Lee), Todd Copeland (Michelle), Chad Copeland (Donna), Cam Copeland (Jerrica), Beth Osborn (BJ) and Jay Copeland; 11 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and special family friend, Buster Hughes. The Copeland family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff of Troy Health & Rehab and Dr. Pearlstein’s office. The grandchildren will be serving as the pallbearers.
