James Bivin “Jimbo” DeRamus, age 68, of Troy, Alabama, died Friday, April 27, 2012, at Baptist South Hospital in Montgomery, Alabama.
Funeral services for Mr. DeRamus will be at Green Hills Funeral Home Monday, April 30, 2012, at 2 p.m., with Reverends Wayne Locklar and Andrew Knick officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hills Memorial Cemetery in Troy, Alabama. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. DeRamus was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Lucille DeRamus and sister-in-law Joan DeRamus.
He is survived by his brothers Dave DeRamus (Pat) of Bogart, GA., Robert DeRamus of Huntsville, AL., Donald DeRamus of Troy, AL. and Billy Joe DeRamus (Linda) of Troy, AL. He is also survived by his nephews Len DeRamus (Marie) of Watkinsville, GA., Heath DeRamus of Troy, AL and Mike Bennett (Becky) of Huntsville, AL, nieces Angie Burnett (Greg) of Panama City Beach, FL., Pam Edenfield (Kenny) of Troy, AL., Carissa Garner (Mike) of Pelham, AL., Brook Robison (Brett) of Birmingham, AL., Sharon Wade (Lane) of Alma, GA., Sandy McCormick of Huntsville, AL, Ann Haltwanger (Terry) of Huntsville, AL, and Michelle Eades (David) of Bogart, GA.
Jimbo was a proud supporter of Lex’s Bluegrass Festival each year and was an adamant collector for the Ronald McDonald House for cancer patient’s soft drink pull top campaign.
Pallbearers will be Heath DeRamus, Kenny Edenfield, Mike Garner, Brett Robison, Len DeRamus, David Eades, Lane Wade and Greg Burnett.
