James Edward Tillery, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away on June 22, 2022, at the age of 62.  Funeral services will be on Monday, June 27, 2022, at 11:00am at Green Hills Funeral Home.  Visitation will be on Sunday, June 26, 2022, from 4:00-6:00pm.  Rev. Wayne Locklar officiating.  Pallbearers are Eddie Tillery, Blake Tillery, Ronnie Minor, Steven Adams, Jim Adams, and Gene White.  Honorary pallbearers are three grandsons, J.D. Mr. Tillery enjoyed a simple life and could fix most anything.  Everyday he used his skills of a handyman to fix up a house or paint a room.  When he wasn’t working around town, he enjoyed fishing and watching old westerns.  Spending time with family was important, and he always had a good joke to tell! He will be missed by all who loved him.

Loving survivors include his wife, Avelina Tillery; children, Eddie “Peewee” Tillery (Trudie), Kristi Lewis (Jerrick), Tommy Tillery, Troy Tillery; grandchildren, Blake Tillery, J. D. Tillery, Hunter Smith, Jayce Smith, McKinnley Smith; siblings, Bruce Branton, Phillip Branton, Kathy Johnson, Gwen Robson (Howie); as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Chalker & Shirley Branton; and his son, John Edward Tillery.
