Gilberitta Hamm Jackson, age 88, of Troy died Saturday September 2, 2017 at UAB hospital in Birmingham. She was a faithful member of Springhill Baptist Church for over 60 years. Gilberitta was born October 14, 1928 in Pike County to the late Bob Wesley Stewart and Elma Ruth Grissette Stewart. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Nelson Hamm and Reverend Neil Jackson and 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Springhill Baptist Church with Reverend Leon Fortune officiating . Burial will follow in the church cemetery. There will be a one hour lie in state prior to the service at the church. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 5, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Green Hills Funeral Home.
Her survivors include; her children, daughter, Dorothy (Gene) Harrison, daughter, Joan (Larry) Aldridge, son, Regal (Nancy) Hamm, daughter, Rita (Louie) Richburg. 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, brothers and sisters, Ina Kate (James) Mitchell, Emma Jean Carr, Judy Burchfield, Michael (Lynn) Stewart, Randy (Andrea Stewart, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Larry Trawick, Regal Hamm Jr., Chris Trawick, Mitchell Sanders, Jeff Sanders and T.J. Norris. Honorary pallbearers will be the Adult Women's Sunday School Class of Springhill Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to the Springhill Baptist Church, 64 CR 3350, Troy, Al. 36079.
