Geraldine Jackson

Geraldine T. "Gerri" Jackson, age 86, of Troy died Thursday, October 3, 2019 in Troy. Gerri was born to the late Charles Andrew Thompson and Sallie Voncile Harrington Thompson. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Barney E. Godwin and Grady Jackson, and a son, Glenn Godwin, brother, Charles Morgan Thompson and a sister, Betty Barnette Sheffield. Gerri was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Troy and was a member of the Lydia Sunday School Class. She was always quick to tell everyone how much she loved her church Sunday school class and her hometown of Troy.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 2:00 PM  in the chapel of Green Hills Funeral Home in Troy with Brother Geoffrey Spann officiating. Burial will in the Green Hills Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Her survivors include; brother and sister-in-law, Scottie S. and Cynthia Thompson, brother-in-law, Lanier Sheffield , sister-in-law, Gerry Thompson, her nieces and nephews, Ashley Edwards, Charlotte Anderson(Van), Donna Smithberger (Mark), Rick Thompson (Angela), Greg Thompson (Tina) and Tina Garcia (Ivan).

In lieu of flowers memorial maybe made to the Troy Animal Rescue Project, PO Box 771, Troy, AL 36081 or to the charity of your choice.
