Frances Hughes Wilson

Frances Hughes Wilson, beloved mother and grandmother, went to be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior, on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at the age of 97. Graveside services will be at 3:00pm on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at Green Hills Memorial Cemetery with visitation one hour prior to the service at Green Hills Funeral Home. Pastor Dean Finch officiating.

Frances graduated from Carroll High School in Ozark, AL. After moving to Troy, she became a member of Southside Baptist Church. Whether it was playing a game of canasta, fishing, or putting a puzzle together, she was content to spend time with friends and family. A prolific crocheter, Frances covered Christmas trees everywhere in delicately crocheted ornaments. Frances loved caring for her family and friends, making slippers for her grandkids or cooking them their favorite foods. She was a kind and gentle soul who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin G. Wilson; her son, Michael Wilson; her parents, and her siblings. Survivors include her son, M. Glenn Wilson, Jr. (Faye); grandchildren, Katherine Wilson, Christopher Wilson (Robyn), David Wilson (Lauren), Tracy Wilson; four great grandchildren, Madalynn Wilson, Caroline Wilson, Mary Wilson, and Christopher Wilson.
