Faye P. Jordan, age 91, passed away peacefully May 18, 2022, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law. Please join the family in a Celebration of Life Sunday, May 22, 2022, at 2:00 pm, at Green Hills Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Mark Stephens officiating.
Faye was born in Troy, Alabama, on February 23, 1931, to her parents, Rev. James P. Price and Mozell Bassett Price. She resided in Troy, where she raised her family, until 1973. At that time she moved to Montgomery where she met the love of her life, Paxton Jordan. They were married in 1975 and moved to Raleigh, North Carolina, where they lived until Paxton’s retirement in 1996. At that time they moved to Stillwaters at Lake Martin near Dadeville, Al, enjoying retirement and lake life, spending time with family and friends on their boat and entertaining at their home.
In 2004, Faye and Pax moved to Foley, Alabama, where she resided until she moved back to her hometown in 2017. Wherever Faye lived she was good neighbor and made many lifelong friends. She always had a batch of fresh cooked blueberry muffins for the neighborhood’s newest residents.
Faye was raised in a Christian home and her early teachings and love of God and the church stayed with her all her life. Her faith and serving the Lord was her priority. She was a leader in her church in every community and city she lived in. She taught Sunday School, volunteered and taught Bible School, as well as served as a leader in women’s ministries and volunteered wherever she was needed.
Her family was also her top priority, nothing pleased her more than preparing a delicious meal for her family and making sure all their needs were taken care of. She was a wonderful cook!! She loved to sew and was a talented seamstress. When her daughters were young, she enjoyed sewing beautiful dresses for them, and as they got older teaching them the skill. She did not work outside the home until her children were older because her job was making a home for her family and guiding and teaching her children and grandchildren. Her Granddaughter described her as “the perfect example of strength, grace and love.”
She is survived by her children, Jo D. Gay (Carson) of Gulf Shores, Alabama, Kay D. Reeves and Richard P. Dunn (Pam) of Troy, Alabama, Dell McDonald (Jimmy) of Reno, Nevada and Holt Jordan (Chris) of Milton, Delaware; grandchildren, Rick Dendy (Courtnei) of Foley, Alabama, Heather Loper (Murray) of Elberta, Alabama, Stuart Gay (Janel) of Fairhope, Alabama, Jo Ann Elliott of Pelham, Alabama, Alison Chandler (Jonathan) of Atlanta, Georgia, Brooke Murphy (Walter) of Troy, Alabama, Roxanne Parrish of Enterprise, Alabama, Whit Dunn of Troy, Alabama, Tab Traywick (Michelle) of Vacaville, California, Marjorie Traywick (David Roberts) of Vacaville, California. She also leaves 20 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter as well as beloved nieces and nephews.
