Ezra K. “Ed” Hester, 92, passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at home surrounded by his family. A Graveside Service will be at 2:00pm on Monday, January 24, 2022 at Green Hills Cemetery with Rev. Keith Price officiating. Visitation will be at 1:00pm at Green Hills Funeral Home.
Ed was a hard working man who was a successful business owner. He was an auto mechanic who could fix anything under the hood but could also fix the hood because he could do wonders in the body shop too. He ventured into the grocery store business and owned the store and even learned the trade of meat cutting in the meat market. Once he sold the grocery store, he then developed and owned a mobile home park and managed it for years. Ed loved his family and enjoyed taking his boys fishing at Lake Eufaula back in the day. He would shoot pool, hunt, and play dominoes with his friends. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Nell Hester; his parents, Oscar & Ophelia Hester; and 8 siblings. Loving survivors include his sons, James E. Hester (Jane), Tony W. Hester (Linda Avera); his grandchildren, Angela Baughman (Dave), James T. Hester (Jenny); great grandchildren, Jayden Hester, Faith Baughman, Gaven Hester; and his sister, Mary Smith.
