Ellen Rita Regalbuto Blum's love of life did not end; instead, she found everlasting life with God. Ellen Rita Regalbuto Blum was born in Brooklyn, NY, and passed away on April 10, 2022, after an extended illness. After she graduated from Seacrest High School in Rochelle, NY, she moved to Florida, where she lived for 35 years. She married a fisherman named "Chris," and they opened a bait and tackle shop called Ellen's Rod Shop. She made custom fishing rods that were made for comfort and to meet the customers' needs. She also sold bait and tackle, which was no easy task because one must know what types of fish are in the area and what bait works best. After only 16 years of marriage, her beloved husband, Chris, passed away at 45. Before Chris passed away, Ellen decided to go back to school. She completed her degree as a Medical Assistant, in September 1986, and Chris passed away in December 1986. A few years later, in 1996, she moved to Alabama thanks to the encouragement from her dear friend, Louann. Louann and her children became Ellen's extended family until the passing of Louann. Ellen worked for Henderson Black and Green for ten years until her health declined. Ellen has loved and cared for others and enjoyed spending time with her friends. Ellen will be remembered for her devotion to God, family, and her friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bryan Christopher Blum; her parents, Salvatore & Constance Regalbuto; and her brother, Robert Regalbuto. Loving survivors include her caregiver, Jenny Reed, and her extended family and friends: Jay, Kylee, Bruce, Angela, Maria, Daisy, Ruby, Annette, Sally, Audree, and Lori.
