Elizabeth Phillips Stewart, age 93, passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2015, at Troy Health and Rehabilitation. A graveside memorial service will be held at Silverbrook Cemetery in Wilmington, Delaware on March 28, 2015, for her immediate family.
Mrs. Stewart was born in Wilmington, Delaware February 23, 1921, and lived there until moving to Troy, Alabama in 2004. She graduated from Goldey-Beacom Business School in Wilmington and later worked as a secretary and stenographer at Hercules Powder Company.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Perry George and Mabel Valentine Phillips; husband, Henry R. Stewart, Sr.; one brother and three sisters. She is survived by two sons, Henry R. Stewart, Jr. (Margaret) of Troy, Alabama and William P. Stewart (Donna) of Newark, Delaware; three grandchildren, Amber D’Andrea (Michael), William P. Stewart, Jr. (Jennifer), all of Delaware, and Beth Stewart of Florida; and five great-grandchildren.
