Elaine England Blair, 69, of Troy, Alabama, passed away peacefully November 1, 2014, at her home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 5, 2014, at the First United Methodist Church (Troy) at 11 a.m. with Rev. Steve Winton officiating. Graveside services will follow at William Carter Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the church. Pallbearers will be Robert Sullivan, Buddy Starling, Tom Murphree, Sherrill Crowe, Bill Barr, and John Blair. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Chancellor choir, the Encouragers Sunday school class, and the Birthday club.
Mrs. Blair was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Troy and was very active in her community. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph England and Erma Laree Moore England of Fort Smith, Arkansas. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Curtis Blair; sons, Donald Blair (Julie) of Birmingham, Alabama, and Chris Blair of Troy; three grandchildren, Kenan and Mary Katherine Blair of Hayden, Alabama, and Madison Blair of Birmingham; brother, John England (Gloria) of Fort Smith, Arkansas; sister, Ann England Elder (Bob) of Fallsbrook, California; and a host of nephews, nieces, close friends and family.
