Eileen Williford Walker

Eileen Williford Walker passed away on Monday, February 6, 2023 at her home, surrounded by loved ones at the age of 76. A memorial service will be at 3:00pm at Green Hills Funeral Home on Thursday, February 9, 2023, with Pastor Perry Green officiating.  Visitation one hour before the service.
A local gal, Mrs. Walker graduated from Charles Henderson High School in 1965, and went on to Troy University where she was a member of Kappa Delta sorority and graduated in 1969, with an English degree.  She taught 4th grade at Springhill Elementary for over 18 years and then retired at Banks Elementary School  after teaching 6 more years. A sunshine loving lady, she enjoyed sunbathing by her pool, going to the beach with family and friends as well as reading and eating out with her friends.  She loved raising her children and spending time with her family and the many “puppies” she raised over the years.  Fox News and the Food Network were always playing around the house.  She will be missed by all who knew her and loved her.
Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her parents, Bill & Edna Williford; brother, Robert Williford and many close cousins.
Loving survivors include her husband of 55 years, Thomas Walker, Sr.; children, Christi Walker Daniels (Hunky), Thomas “Brent” Walker, Jr. (Heather); grandchildren, Cassidy Stearns (Bart), Mary Griffin Capps, Grace Hixon Capps, Emma Carter Daniels; and many close cousins and extended family.  She also leaves behind many close friends who have been like sisters to her such as the beloved “Lunch Bunch”, “Begonia Buds” and all the Orange Street/Fairview Street clan.  Her family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to her closest friends and her wonderful caregivers, Susie, Cathy, Mary, Dyan, & Seymore for their support and care during this time.
