Edythe Holmes

Edythe Mila Holmes, age 92 of Troy, died Saturday, September 15, 2012 at Troy Health & Rehabilitation. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Green Hills Memorial Cemetery with Dr. Luke Lane officiating and Green Hills Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Green Hills Funeral Home.
Mrs. Holmes was an active member and Sunday school teacher at the First Baptist Church of Troy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Frank Holmes; father, Isaac Motes; mother, Era Mae Reddock Motes and six brothers and sisters. Mrs. Holmes was survived by one son, Frank Wayne Holmes (Judy) of Andalusia; brothers, John Presley Motes (Betty) of Mobile and Donald Wayne Motes of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Michael Wayne Holmes (Deanna) of Bessemer, Jeffery Lane Holmes (Mary) of Mobile; great grandchild, Lexie Conner Holmes.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Troy, The American Cancer Society, The Diabetes Association or a Charity of your choice.
