Douglas McArthur Golden, Sr

Douglas McArthur Golden, Sr. passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2024. Funeral services will be on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at 2:00pm at Green Hills Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery with Adam Vinson, Wes Davis, Kirk Eigenberg, Will Boyd, Stephen Eagen, Cory Senn, Chris Green, and Randy Green serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 10, 2024, from 5:00-7:00pm at Green Hills Funeral Home. 

Known around the Pike County area as “Mac”, Mr. Golden will always be remembered for his kindness and his smile. He never wanted to stay at home so you could find him driving to town or out to eat southern home-cooking at one of the restaurants in the area. Mac loved his family and was always looking forward to seeing his children or his grandchildren and was ready to work on his tractor together or plant a new row in his garden. He spent his life as a helicopter mechanic in the US Army and the Army National Guard. He was a proud American who retired from serving in the Army. Mac was loved by all and will be missed by all who knew him. 

Mac was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Golden; brothers, Ray Golden, Bill Golden, Robert Golden; his granddaughter, Lelia Faulkner; and his parents, Irvin & Pearl Golden. Survivors include his children, Donna Vinson (Danny), Susan Faulkner (Ricky), Douglas Golden, Jr (Tammy), Leann Stephens (Will Boyd), Brandy Hand (Jay); grandchildren, Summer Davis (Wes), Vivian Eigenberg (Kirk), Amira Senn (Cory), Noel Jordan (Justin), Addison Hand, Conner Hand, Katie Grace Stephens, Kaleb King, Emma Boyd; great grandchildren, Madison, Virginia, Nora and Rowan.
