Dorothy “Ann” Oakes Middlebrooks, age 71 of Brundidge, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at her residence. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 29, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Oris Sanders and Rev. Jimmy Grier officiating and Green Hills Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Middlebrooks was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother, a very kind and loving person who had a servants heart and a love for flowers.
She is preceded in death by her father, Louie Oakes; mother, Cleone Williams Oakes; brothers, Louie Gene Oakes and infant Jesse Oakes. She is survived by her husband, James E. “Doc” Middlebrooks; sons, Henry Middlebrooks (Marie) of Banks and Peter Middlebrooks of Brundidge; daughters, Betsy Gates (Jay) of Troy, Tammy Kay Hetrick (Jonathan) of Brundidge and Jane Martin (Rick) of Ozark; grandchildren, Matthew Gates, Megan Middlebrooks, Elizabeth Gates, Kendra Hetrick, Katie Middlebrooks, Julie Middlebrooks, Haley Middlebrooks and Ashley Hetrick; brother and sister in law, James and Shirley Oakes; sister in law, Joyce Oakes; numerous loved nieces and nephews; special friends of the family, Tracey, Bradley and Briana Adkinson.
