Dorothy Gorman

Dorothy Childs Gorman, age 83, of Troy died Saturday, May 19, 2018 in Troy after a brief illness. A graveside  service for Dorothy Gorman will be Monday, May 21, 2018 at 1:00 PM in the Green Hills Memorial Park Cemetery with Reverend Michael Alsup officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Green Hills Funeral Home. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Frank (Booster) Gorman, son Timothy N., son Danny M., her parents John L. and Clotie Nash Childs, her sister Marjorie Valentine, and her brothers John Winston Childs, Ralph Stanley (Jack) Childs, and Charles W. Childs.  She is survived by her son David F. Gorman and wife Roselyn Mclendon Gorman, six grandchildren; Jeffrey, Bridgette, Jacob, Danielle, and Justin Gorman, and Tabitha (Michael) Adkins.  Also one step granddaughter Liane Knotts, one great granddaughter Samatha Hill of Marietta, Ga., and one sister-in-law Voncile Childs.  She graduated from Troy High School and attended Troy State University.  She was a member of Troy First Presbyterian Church for over 60 years and Williams Memorial Church for 8 years.  Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Troy First Presbyterian Church.
