Dollie Nuckolls Clements

Dollie Elizabeth Nuckolls Clements, age 87, of Pine Level, Alabama, peacefully passed away at her cherished home, Clements Ranch, on January 22nd. Join us for a heartfelt Celebration of Life on Saturday, February 1st, at 12:00 p.m. at Pine Level Baptist Church, with Rev. Bob Dempsey officiating.

Dollie’s life began at home on the Nuckolls Place in Pine Level, AL, where she grew up as a spirited tomboy, working alongside her father on their vibrant cattle ranch. She thrived in 4-H, showcasing her homegrown cows and often playfully evading her mother’s housework invitations. After graduating from Lanier High School in Montgomery, she pursued a degree in Education at Troy University, where she met the love of her life. They married on March 22, 1956, beginning a beautiful partnership that lasted 68 years. Following graduation, they relocated to Newport News, Virginia, as her husband embarked on a career with NASA, welcoming their son on June 2, 1957. After three fulfilling years, they returned to Alabama to start rewarding careers in public education. Dollie passionately supported her family’s cattle and horse endeavors, embodying the essence of dedication and love.

A lifelong Pine Level Baptist Church member, Dollie cherished her time with her family and church community. Her kindness and generous spirit touched everyone, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Dollie was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Katie Johnson Nuckolls and Charles Whitman Nuckolls, and her devoted husband, Robert Hillman Clements. She leaves behind her son, Rob Clements (Dee Morrison Clements); her cherished grandchildren, Whitney Taylor Clements Phaturos (Richard Taylor Phaturos) and Lauren Ashton Clements Harris (John Gaskell Harris); as well as her adored great-grandchildren, Hannah Marie Croy, Madeleine Grace Croy, Taylor Elizabeth Croy, James Hill Harris, and Lottie Jane Harris. Her extended family includes Jenny King Holman (Merritt Holman), Haden Holman Paine, Rosemary Clark Josey (Charles Josey), Nettie Ruth Gray Edwards, John Burgess (Angela Burgess), Kristie Christian (Kenny Christian), Brittany Jordan Payton (Jordan Payton), Breanna Jordan Donahey (Jacob Donahey), and Alex Christian Halterman (Tyler Halterman), and many Great-Grand Children.
