Clyde Gambrell
June 6, 1935 — November 29, 2017
Clyde Chevis Gambrell, age 82 of Perote, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at Baptist East Medical Center. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 1, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Green Hills Funeral Home in Troy, Alabama. There will be a private graveside service. Mr. Gambrell was born on June 6, 1935 and was raised in Anderson, South Carolina. He had an honorable discharge from the United States Navy and Air Force and retired from the United States Army Corps of Engineers. His greatest pleasure in life was his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Benson and Daisy Lee Alewine Gambrell, and two brothers, Fred Gambrell and Preston Gambrell.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marie Stevens Gambrell; brother, Dale Gambrell; one son, Chuck Gambrell (Susan); one daughter, Angela Barnette (Timothy Mulligan); four grandchildren, Jordan Cox (Paul), Alex Hurst (T.R.), Gregory Barnette (Ashton), and Brandon Barnette; five great-grandchildren, Trenton Hurst, Addison Cox, Taytum Hurst, Kinsley Cox, and Scarlett Barnette.
