Clayton W. Floyd of Boaz, AL, formerly of Troy, AL, died Tuesday, May 10, 2011. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 13, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. David Floyd and Rev. Ken May officiating. Burial will follow with full military honors in the Green Hills Memorial Park Cemetery with Green Hills Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Friday, May 13, 2011 immediately prior to service from 11:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. at Green Hills Funeral Home.
Mr. Floyd is a Veteran of World War II having earned a World War II Victory Medal, Purple Heart, and European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with two Bronze Stars.
Mr. Floyd was preceded in death by his wife, Helen B. Floyd and granddaughter, Karen Elaine Shiflett. He is survived by his daughter, Gayle Curtis (Hal) of Boaz; son, James L. Floyd (Rachel) of Lanett; sister, Glendolyn Crutchfield; brother, James Parker Floyd; sister-in-law, Margaret Floyd; five grandchildren, Bobby Shiflett (Cathy) and Kenneth Shiflett, Michael Floyd (Leah), Christy Hammond (Greg) and Tracy Bingham (Darrell); five great-grandchildren, Crescent and Cassidy Shiflett, William Floyd, Nicki Hammond and Brody Bingham; as well as many nieces and nephews.
