Charles B. (CB) Phillips, age 88 of Troy, AL., formerly of Detroit, Michigan, passed away Friday, May 31, 2013 at his home. Funeral services for Mr. Phillips will be Monday, June 3, 2013 at 2 p.m., at Carroll Street Cemetery in Troy with Elder Sylvester Jones officiating and Green Hills Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Phillips was born in Pike County where he attended public school and later moved to Detroit, Michigan where he spent most of his adult life. He worked in the automobile industry as a mechanic.
He leaves to cherish his memories a devoted daughter Geraldine Brown of Troy; one son, Arthur B. Phillips of Detroit; a special friend of 29 years Lynn Leigh of Detroit; four sisters, Magalene Stringer of Troy; Marie Jackson (Jay) and Betty Green (Taylor) of Tallahassee FL., and Ann Brown of Detroit. He was preceded in death by two brothers Clarence Jones and C.W. Williams and is survived by three brothers; Columbus Wynn (Ruby) of Troy, Lamar Wynn (Dot) of Vero Beach, FL., and Elder Sylvester Jones (Carol) of Cocoa Beach, FL. He also leaves behind one aunt, Mildred Williams of Detroit, as well as five grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
