Charles Parker

Charles P. Parker “Poppa”, age 74, of Grady, Alabama, passed away at his home surrounded by his loved ones Friday, July 10, 2015. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 13, 2015, at 12 p.m. in the chapel of Green Hills Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Rouse officiating. Interment will follow at Hills Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Win Broadway, Chris Berry, Matt Garrett, Jason Parker, Brett Sikes, Brad Rich, Edward Sanders, and Brian Funderburg. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Deese, Robin Missildine, Joe Sims, Sonny Mills, Rob Chancey, J.C. Norman, and the employees of Ozark Super-Sav.

Charles was born March 22, 1941, in Brooks County, Georgia, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Oscar and Evelyn Henderson Parker. He was preceded in death by brothers, Comer and Wallace Parker. He is survived by his devoted wife of 35 years, Elaine S. Parker; sons, Jeff (Terra) Parker and Todd (Patricia) Parker; daughters, Stephanie (Kacey) Mays, Brandy (Brian) Funderburg, and Nicole Parker; grandchildren, Matthew (Nhi) Parker, Kaitlyn Parker, Madison Parker, Cody Garrett, Chase Garrett, Carson Garrett, Camryn Garrett, Bryson Funderburg, Bryleigh Funderburg, Brynna Funderburg, and Patti Boeckle; great-grandson, Alex Parker; siblings, Mary Varnadoe, Cecil (Liz) Parker, and Gerald (Burie) Parker; and father and mother-in-law, Edward and Betty Broadway.
