Cary was known for his larger-than-life personality, infectious energy, and ability to make friends wherever he went. He never met a stranger, and to know him was to love him. A devoted husband, father, and “Pop” to his grandchildren, he brought joy and laughter to those around him.

After graduating from Troy State University and the Cumberland School of Law, he dedicated his career to the legal profession, first serving as an Assistant District Attorney in Montgomery before returning to Troy, where he built a respected law practice. His colleagues and clients alike admired his dedication and integrity. Beyond his legal career, Cary was the owner of Brittany’s Restaurant, a beloved gathering spot in Troy. He was a passionate Troy University and Alabama football fan and cherished time spent with family and friends. True to his nature, Cary lived life on his own terms, a quality his loved ones will always remember.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years, Betty Dozier; his children, Brittany Royal (D.J.), Deonne Flowers (Tracy), Kerrie Lynn Harris (Guy), and Cary “Chip” Dozier, Jr.; grandchildren, Trip Royal, Grace Royal, Roger Phoenix (Paige), Kiriana Stukas (Paul), Jazz Wilton, Riley Dozier, Gabby Dozier, Savannah Dozier, Cole Dozier, Dylan Dozier, and Hunter Dozier; four great-grandchildren; his sister, Gail Dickens; and several nieces and nephews.

Cary was preceded in death by his parents, Senator L.L. “Dago” & Mary Nell Dozier; his brother, Cecil Dozier; sister-in-law, K Dozier; and brother-in-law, Wayne Dickens.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Enhabit Hospice and his dedicated caregivers, Ms. Angela and Ms. Jean, for their kindness and compassionate care. The staff of Green Hills Funeral Home is honored to serve the Dozier family.
