Bobbie Margene Laney

Bobbie Margene Laney, 81 of Troy, AL died Tuesday, January 3, 2023 surrounded by family. Margene was born February 15, 1941 in Pike County, AL to the late Acie Bob Fredrick and Lovie Morgan.

Mrs. Laney attended Ebenezer Elementary School, Banks Junior High School, Troy High School, and then graduated from Winter Haven High School. She married the love of her life, the late Olin Laney on March 20, 1959 and they moved to Haines City, FL. They would later return to Troy, AL where Margene began her career as a dental assistant. Here, they raised their 3 children and built a loving family. Mrs. Laney would tell you that the most important thing in life was her family! She enjoyed attending all of her 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren's functions. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, spending her time outdoors fishing in her pond, and planting flowers.

She is survived by: daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Ray Bennett; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Bill Wood; son and daughter-in-law, Keith Laney and Regina Hendrix; grandchildren, Amy (Jarred) Brunson, Emily Stokes, Christopher (Samantha) Wood, Courtney (Stan) Kindred, Chelsea Wood, Jake Laney, Justin Laney; great-grandchildren, Laney Brunson, Morgan Brunson, Charli Brunson (Feb 2023), Emma Grace McClenny, Ryleigh McClenny, Hadleigh Wood, Parker Wood, Grayson Kindred. Active pallbearers will be Jake Laney, Justin Laney, Bill Wood, Andy Stokes, Stan Kindred, and Jeff Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Christopher Wood and Jarred Brunson. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Green Hills Funeral Home with Christopher Wood and Brother Ronald Earls officiating. Visitation will be at 1:00 pm followed by Service at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at the Ebenezer Baptist Cemetery in Banks, AL.
