Betty McGilvray

Betty Peel McGilvray, age 71  of Fort Walton Beach, Fl. formerly of Troy died Sunday, October 1, 2017 in Fort Walton beach. Betty was a school teacher and taught for 44 years in the public school system. The family would like to say a special thanks to Estelle Byrd and Voncile Green and the staff of Meridian Assisted living in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Green Hills Funeral Home with Dr. Mallone Chandler and Reverend Wayne Locklar officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Survivors include; Daughters, Stephanie McGilvray and Stacey McGilvray, son and daughter in law, Stan and Desirea  McGilvray, grandchildren, Ryan Elizabeth McGilvray and Brantley McGilvray, sisters, Virginia Fountain and Jeannette Morrow, sister in law, Jean Peel, She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents George Dewey Peel and Berta Beaty Peel, her brothers, Eugene Peel, Mack (Chris) Peel, Thomas Peel and a brother in law, John Morrow.Flowers will be accepted or memorial may be made to your favorite charity. The staff of Green hills is honored to serve the McGilvray family.
