Bernice "Hilma" Bagley

Bernice “Hilma” Campbell Bagley, age 90, a longtime resident of Troy, Alabama, passed away peacefully Friday, February 12, 2021. A graveside service will be held Monday, February 15, 2021, at 11 a.m. at the Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery (100 Damascus Road/County Road 40 Honoraville, AL) with Reverend Andrew Knick officiating. Green Hills Funeral Home directing. Any friends or family who wish to follow to the cemetery will need to arrive at Green Hills Funeral Home at 10 a.m. for departure.

Mrs. Bagley was kind and generous and truly lived a Biblical example in what it teaches us about loving others. She and her husband dedicated years of service as caregivers and mentors with the Alabama Baptist Children’s Home. Mrs. Bagley was a good and faithful servant and a valued member of the Southside Baptist Church team and family. She fulfilled the role as Fellowship Coordinator and could “whip a kitchen into shape.” Mrs. Bagley loved so many so well and will long be remembered as a wonderful model of a virtuous woman.

Mrs. Bagley is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and many beloved church family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Norman Bagley; daughter, Victoria Lynn Barton; parents, Joseph and Bethanie Cumbie Campbell; brothers, Hopson Campbell, Grady Campbell, James Campbell, Fred Campbell, and Vann Campbell; and sisters, Wanda Stephens and Hazel Timmer.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the Southside Baptist Church Building Fund (522 South Brundidge Street, Troy, AL 36081).
