Andrew Vincent Martincak, loving husband and father, passed away on Friday, January 26, 2024. Loving survivors include his wife, Winnie Martincak; brother, Joseph Martincak; sons, Andrew V. Martincak, Jr (Suzy), Frank J. Martincak, James W. Martincak (Renee’), Daniel D. Martincak; stepchildren, Dean Stewart (Sherry), Dale Stewart (Gloria), Jeff Stewart (Tracy), Diane Stewart Alford (Rip), many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife and mother of his children, Margaret “Marge” Martincak, and son, Stephen Martincak.
After graduating from high school, Andy served in the Marines for 2 years. He lived in NYC and was employed by Northern Bell. After his first 2 sons were born, he transferred to Southern Bell and raised his family in the Miami area where he fathered 3 more sons. Andy loved the outdoors and took his sons on many adventures, both as a Scout leader and on numerous car trips where they camped, sailed, boated, fished, and hiked all across the country. He moved to Troy, Alabama after retirement, where he met and married Winnie Stewart. They shared 14 love filled years together in Troy until his sudden passing.
After retirement he was able to pursue his artistic talents, including painting, sculpture, woodworking, and glass art. He lived a long, happy life and will be greatly missed by his wife, sons, step-sons and step-daughter, numerous nieces and nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2:00pm on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at Green Hills Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memorial Veteran’s Park.
