Alison Tew

September 11, 1985 — November 25, 2021

Alison Huggins Tew, formerly of Troy, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 36 on Thursday, November 25, 2021. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at The Huggins farm from 2:00-4:00pm.

Alison grew up in the Troy area and is a 2003 Charles Henderson High School graduate.  She went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science Education from Troy University and a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from Grand Canyon University. She went on to teach, inspire, and encourage children in the classroom for over 13 years. Alison was a loving wife and mother, passionate friend, and community advocate. She was a lifelong member of Collegedale Church of Christ.

Alison had a smile that inspired others to smile with her. She made friends instantly and was always ready to sit and chat. She was a “mother-sister-aunt-best friend” to anyone in need. Her love for people cannot be overstated. She was a beacon of warmth.

As the oldest sister of three, she was born to take charge. Her leadership skills could not be confused with bossiness. Alison was a fierce advocate for what she knew was right, and had a gift for making people feel seen and heard.

Alison left a legacy through kind, loyal, compassionate, and God-fearing sons.

Loving survivors include her husband of 10 years, Jarrad Tew; her boys, Cooper, Fletcher, and Owen; her parents, John and Gwyn Huggins; and her sisters, Lindsay Huggins and Elizabeth Whittington (Tyler).  She is loved by many and is missed by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald House.
