Agnes Irene Rogers, age 84, of Troy, Alabama, died Tuesday, July 1, 2014. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 4, 2014 at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Green Hills Funeral Home with George Merritt, Loyd Hodge and Tony Mills officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be David Trawick, Bill Thomas, Brett Thomas, Tony Mills, Matt Rogers, and Darrell Rogers. Visitation will be Thursday, July 3, 2014 from 5 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Rogers was a longtime member of the Collegedale Church of Christ, and she was especially fond of the church’s “Secret Pals” group. She loved the bounty of fresh flowers she tended; she loved all things family with a special place in her heart for cooking for her grandchildren. Mrs. Rogers was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Clyde Strong; husband, Necy L. Rogers; daughter, Betty Sue Mills; six brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her sons, Joseph Rogers (Wanda) of Atlanta, GA, Rusty Rogers (Linda) of Charleston, SC, Timothy Rogers (Janie) of Troy, AL, Paul Rogers (Janice) of Upton, KY, and John Rogers (Deborah) of Troy, AL; daughters, Barbara Hodge (Loyd) of Troy, AL, Judy Trawick (John David) of Banks, AL, and Glenda Edmisten (Rich) of Melbourne, FL; four siblings, Woodrow Strong, Danny Strong, Sellers Strong, and Rebecca Johnson; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
