US Army SGT Adam Jared Connor, age 30, of Fort Story, Virginia, passed away on February 14, 2011. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 25, 2011 at 2:30 PM from the chapel of Green Hills Funeral Home with a military chaplain officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hills Memorial Park Cemetery with full military honors and Green Hills Funeral Home directing.
Visitation will be held Friday, February 25, 2011 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.at Green Hills Funeral Home.
Adam was a 1999 Graduate of Sparkman High School, in Tony, Alabama. He attended Auburn University for two years before joining the US Army in 2001. He served with distinction and deployed four times in six years, three tours in support of Iraqi Freedom and one tour to Haiti in support of Operation Unified Response.
Adam Connor is the grandson of the late George Welton Connor and Mary L. Connor, long time residents of Troy Alabama and the late Harold and Lillian Drage of Salt Lake City, Utah.
He is survived by his wife, Kristie, and two sons; Logan (3) and Mikah (8),
his parents: Mother, Dawn Elton of Salt Lake City, Utah; Father, Louis Connor and stepmother, Suzan Connor of Rogersville, Alabama; his in-laws, Bruce and Carol Macey of Columbia, SC., brother-in-law, Greg Macey; two brothers, Nick and Aletta Connor of Salt Lake City, Utah and Patrick Connor of San Francisco, CA. Adam has two stepsisters, Renee Wheeler of Sanford, NC, and Arissa Wheeler of Auburn University, Auburn, Alabama.
A Hospitality Room for out of town visitors and guests will be open at the Hampton Inn in Troy all day on February 25th.
